Obituary of Janette Grabowski

GRABOWSKI (McMaster), Janette "Jenny"- Age 91 passed away peacefully on April 26, 2017, in Melville Ledge Nursing Home in Halifax, with her family at her side. She was the daughter of the late Roderick and Margaret (Plumb) Grabowski. Jenny was a kind and loving person who sincerely enjoyed life. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed dancing, bridge and all other social gatherings. Later in life she enjoyed playing bingo as much for the camaraderie as the game itself. The last two years of her life she suffered from Alzheimer’s disease with her last two months spent at Melville Lodge. Jenny is survived by her son, Jack; daughter-in-law; Nancy (Rick); grandchildren; Damien, Margaret (Matt) Curtis and great grandson, Jacob; sister, Barbara Carol, Belleville Ont. Jenny was predeceased by her husband, Frank and son, Rick. The family wishes to thank all of her friends and extended family for the kindness and love shown to her over the years. A sincere thanks to care-coordinator, Marjorie Ryan for the invaluable help provided in taking care of Jenny’s needs as the Alzheimer’s disease progressed. The family also thanks the Northwood Home Care and a special thanks to Melville Lodge Nursing Home for the great support and care given, not only to Jenny but also to the family during this emotional and difficult time. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. In accordance with Jenny’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
