Obituary of Mary A. Moser

MOSER, (Leahy) Mary Agnes – 91, Halifax, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Maplestone Enhanced Care. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Gertrude (Finch) Leahy. Mary loved to shop so that she could give to others. She especially enjoyed taking shopping trips to Bangor as well as other bus trips to the US and throughout Canada with her late husband, Fred. After his death, she took her first airplane ride to Bermuda and a few years later she enjoyed a Caribbean cruise. These trips along with visits to her grandchildren and great grandchildren gave her joyous memories for many years, yet no place could be dearer to her heart than the oceanside city of Halifax; best enjoyed seaside soaking up the sun. She will lovingly be remembered by daughters, Diane Sleigh (John) and Noreen Nowe. Mary was a loving Nan to Tina (Jens), Heidi (Pat), Jill (Jeff) and Mark (Mary); special great nanny to Salina, Isiah, Paige, Pablo, Kiara, Kalie and Rowyn. She is also survived by brothers, Ron (Irene), Don (Geraldine); many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by loving husband and best friend, Fred Moser. A special thank you to all of the staff at Maplestone Enhanced Care, as well as to Dr. David Tilley for their kindness and excellent care during her time with them. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, where visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 21 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 22 at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Parish, Fr. Raymond Odumuko as celebrant. Interment will take place at Fairview Lawn Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to Bide-A-While Animal Shelter or the IWK.
