Obituary of M. Caroline Gallant

Age 82 of Spryfield and Belle Cote, Cape Breton, passed away quietly at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, with her family by her side. Caroline was the only child of the late Nellie and Joseph Leblanc Belle Cote. She was a long-time member of St. Michael’s church and the CWL. There was nothing she liked more than to go out dancing, listening to a tune on the fiddle or a good game of cards with friends and family. Her last thoughts were of her family, friends and going home to Belle Cote. Caroline will be sorely missed by her loving husband of 57 years, John; daughters, Camilla and Cecilia; sons, Joe of New Hampshire, and Jim; grandchildren; Alicia, Zack and Ryan; great grandson, Jaxon; many friends. Through her lengthy illness Caroline stayed at home cared for primarily by John until very near the end. The family would like to thank VON, Northwood Homecare and the nurses of 8.4 and the ER at the QEII for their help easing Caroline’s last days. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, where visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 7 at 11:30 AM in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church; with a reception to follow. Caroline’s family will be taking her home to Margaree on Saturday, July 8, for a service beginning at 11 AM and burial at St. Michael’s Church and Cemetery, East Margaree.
