Obituary of Katherine C. Higgins

Age 79 of Harrietsfield, passed from this world into Glory on Monday, September 18, 2017. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late W. Gerald and Clara (Moreau) Brown. Katherine was an avid and skilled wood carver and folk artist. She enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques and dabbled in poetry. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Terry; daughter, Corinne Higgins-Snair (Philip), Halifax; sons, Blair (Linda) Harrietsfield, and Scott (Elisa), Upper La Have; grandchildren, Ray Higgins and Olivia Snair; brothers, Gerald, Gary, Rodney and Kevin; sisters, Doreen and Donna; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Helen (in infancy), Maureen and Clara; brothers, Ronald, Daniel, Donald and Michael. In keeping with Katherine’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 22 at 2:00 pm at Oakridge Memorial Gardens, Lower Sackville; Rev. Keith Wells officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the kids help phone, or childrens charity of choice.
