Obituary of Anita R. Garside

73, Halifax, passed away on October 23, 2017 at the VG Site, QEII, Halifax, NS. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Jones) Pemberton. Throughout her life, "Neat" worked as a self-employed contractor who could do just about anything, a Jane-of-all-trades. She was a private person and will be remembered for being a decent and good living person. She is survived by her siblings, Marjorie Pemberton and Richard Pemberton both of Spryfield, Elta Courtemanche (Herve), and Monson "Sonny" Pemberton (Eleanor), both of Lower Sackville, NS, Dorothy (Harry) Beazley, Upper Nine Mile River, Leona Lorman (Robert), Bridgewater, half-sister, Bonita Boussey, Amherstburg, ON, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, many cousins, aunts, especially Leona and uncles, as well as devoted friends, Dot, Shirley, Faye and Harold. She was predeceased by her parents, daughter, Brenda Lee, half-brothers, Delbert and Arthur, sister Georgina Pemdertion. Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 10 AM from J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. Chapel, 149 Herring Cove Road, with reception to follow. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Donations in memory of Anita may be made to the Phoenix House.
