Obituary of Dale Robert Newcombe

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, father, uncle Dale at the young age of 65 on February 16, 2018 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro Hospital.  Born in Halifax County he was a son of the late Ray and Eva Marguerite (Hutt) Newcombe. 

Dale was a proud member of ILA Local 269 and worked as a longshoreman on the Halifax waterfront for many years. Dale had a love for animals and a love for the outdoors, fishing etc. He always was there to lend a hand to his many friends and family and even showed his entrepreneurial side, dabbling in his own garden/feed store many years ago. Dale was always cheerful and good for a laugh.

Dale is survived by his daughter, Tammy Newcombe, Spryfield; sister, Gladys Newcombe, Spryfield, Verna Bojahra, Enderby B.C.; brother, Lloyd (Margie) Newcombe, Herring Cove; nephews Mark, Bernie, Karl, and Dale. Dale was predeceased by his nephew, Shawn; brother in law, Kurt.

Thanks to Marita Kaizer for her many years of love and compassion and more recently his friend Pam. Special thanks to his devoted friend Melanie Kane McCarley for her endless friendship, help, caring and kindness.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of J. Albert Walker funeral home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road where a service will take on March 12, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Donations in memory can be made to the SPCA.
