Loraine and I were childhood friends. She lived next door to me. We were the same age - only a month apart. We both loved the Beatles and gardening, and the ocean. We used to play at the seashore and go swimming.
I feel lucky to have been able to visit her in her last years.
As I’ve gotten to know grief, I’ve learned that it never goes away. I’ll always miss my husband and I know we’ll feel her loss forever too. I can only take comfort in remembering….Whenever I hear the Beatles, I will remember you, Loraine.
