As a child my family and I would travel to the east coast on our yearly trip to visit. One of the many great memories I can recall is when Aunt Christine would take my brothers and I down to the beach so we could play and swim. She would always bring other kids that she cared for and we loved it. She would take the "city boys from Toronto" down to the beach where we could explore. Some days we were able to buy a treat from the place across the road.
As I grew older the trips stopped with careers and families taking up your time. Fortunately, over the last few years Nicole and I were able to travel to Nova Scotia once a year for a visit. I am glad that we were able to make the time to see Aunt Christine and all the family. When she could she would send us on our way with fresh baked goods. When we return to visit, we will miss her but the memories will last forever.
