Obituary of Emily Ivey

IVEY, Emily (Keeping) - Age 99, Halifax.

 On March 16, 2025, Emily Ivey passed away peacefully at Melville Gardens, Halifax. Born on September 26, 1925 in Belleoram Newfoundland,  she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Elizabeth Keeping. Emily will be remembered for her strong faith and as a dedicated wife, mother, and friend. She is survived by her children, Karen, Wayne (Lottie), Brenda (Vern), Harry (Elizabeth), and Holly (Stuart), as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Ivey; and her daughter, Shirley.

Arrangements are under the care of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax. Visitation will be held at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service for Emily will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 11  AM at Emmanuel Anglican Church. The family would appreciate remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. A special thank you to the fourth floor staff of Melville Gardens for the excellent care they provided Emily.
