Obituary of Goldie Geraldine Boutilier

79, of Indian Harbour, passed peacefully March 23, 2025, at the QEII Halifax Infirmary.

Born March 24, 1945, to Thomas Augustus Murray and Deleta Viola Smeltzer. Goldie grew up in West Dover, with her Aunt Caroline and Uncle Eddie Publicover.

Goldie married Rodney Boutilier on May 7th, 1966 and was blessed with two sons in the following years. She was actively involved in their lives often organizing and fund raising for sporting events whether it was baseball or hockey and connected with many people during that time.

Goldie was always up for a night of bingo or a good card game.  She enjoyed parties, bowling, the senior’s group White Caps but most of all her relationships with her family and friends. If there was a function she was attending, you could be sure she’d arrive with lots of goodies in hand.

While Goldie was very active and enjoyed the busy life she cherished unwinding at home with her beloved cat Bella.

Goldie was predeceased by her husband Rodney, siblings Joseph (Gus), Warren (Spider), Harold (Cap) Earl (Jigger), Kenneth (Lucky), Verona (Sookie), John (Jack), Douglas (Taxi), Frances (Rosalie), Laurie and Allison (Sandy) and is survived by her sisters Victora (Kim) and Mary, sons, Darren (Wendy) and Robin and granddaughters Olivia and Jillian. Goldie was blessed with a large family with many nieces and nephew and loved them all dearly.

A special thank you to Cecilia Murphy, Goldie’s great niece. She cherished you and your commitment to her. You were a pillar of strength for us all. Sylvia, Betty and Joe, there are no words to describe her love for you, but know you were always with her.

We would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at the QEII Halifax Infirmary for their care and commitment to Goldie.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 1:30pm at St. Peter’s Church in Hackett’s Cove, NS.
