Sambro, NS

October 21st, 2003 - April 5th, 2025

It is with shattered hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved blue-eyed boy, Skyler William Smith at the tender age of twenty one.

Skyler was a ray of light with an infectious laugh. He had the most dazzling blue eyes and was always so proud of his charming "Smith" smirk. Skyler embraced life and all it had to offer, he was a constant source of adventure for all that knew him. Skyler was dependable, confident and hardworking. He was the brother you could always count on, and the son you were always proud of!

Ever since Skyler could walk he had been obsessed with anything with wheels. You could often find him on an open trail or under the hood of a car, tinkering around with his boys. Skyler's home was always open to everyone, what was his, was yours. Many of his friends shared how genuine, honest and outgoing Skyler was, he made life worth living.  He was kind, patient and caring. He was a true friend.

Skyler graduated from J. L Ilsley High School in 2021.  After graduation, he went to work at the container pier.  From there he completed his Aerial Work Platform Course through Canadian Piping Trades LOCAL 56. It wasn't long after that when Skyler's love for fishing took him to work as a fisherman. Skyler loved the sea and the beauty of the outdoors, a trait he inherited from his GrandBub.

In his younger years Skyler played hockey for the Chebucto Atlantics. His passion for hockey was a close bond he shared with his father, Lee, and brother, Colby.  He could always be found cheering and supporting his siblings. Skyler was deeply loved by his brothers and was a huge role model for Colby, Landen and Stettson. The love he shared with his sweet little sister, Fathom, was heart-warming.  He was his mother's best friend and his father's right hand man. Skyler has left such a beautiful imprint on everyone that knew him.

Skyler is survived by his parents, Steph Smith and Lee Walsh. He was a beloved sibling to Colby Walsh, Landen Henneberry, Stettson Henneberry and Fathom Smith, as well as his honorary brother, Landen Smith.

Skyler was a cherished grandson to Johnny and Debbie (Kline) Walsh, as well as Larry 'Bubby' Smith and his late Oma Loraine (Hamm) Smith.

Skyler had a special place in his heart for his great-grandmothers, Carol Walsh and the late Minnie Smith.

Skyler was loved like a son by his uncles, Paul Smith and Mark Smith. Skyler leaves behind many great-aunts, uncles and cousins, but always had a special place in his heart for Degean Smith and Davy Raine Smith, as well as his great-uncle, Richard 'Ricky' Smith and great-aunt, Gail Smith, to whom he was like the son they never had.

Skyler is pre deceased by his adoring great-grandfather, William 'Billy' Walsh.

He will forever be loved by his girlfriend Jaylyn Rines.

He will always hold a special place in the heart of Cali Kelsie, his first experience with love. Skyler has such a special bond with so many and that will forever be cherished.

A visitation for Skyler will take place Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road.  A Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 2PM from St. James United Church, 3811 Old Sambro Road.  Burial will take place immediately following the service at St. James United Cemetery.   A private celebration of life will be hosted by the Mundle Family.

It was often said that Skyler was brought into this world as an angel on earth. He may now be gone, but we find peace in knowing that Skyler has left us doing what he loved to do.  Fly high our sweet blue-eyed boy.  You have left a legacy of love and will forever be remembered and honoured.
