Obituary of Hans Joachim Zimmler

ZIMMLER, Hans Joachim, 81, of Halifax.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Hans Joachim Zimmler announces his passing on April 17, 2025, at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home. Born in Colburg, Germany, on March 8, 1944, Hans was the son of the late Gerda Wentz. Hans will be remembered fondly by friends and family for his intelligence and his sharp sense of humour.

Hans is survived by his loving wife, Louise Wright of Halifax; daughter, Adrienne; son-in-law, Scott; and grandchildren, Maude and Zoe of Toronto. Hans’ family would like to say thank you to the staff at St. Vincent’s nursing home for their excellent care.

Cremation and funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J Albert Walker Funeral Home, Halifax. Hans will be laid to rest during a family graveside ceremony at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on August 2, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
