Clayton, Ethel Pauline (Polly) Age 83, of Halifax, went home to be with the Lord on June 9th, 2025, surrounded by family. Born in Halifax on April 23rd,1942, she was the daughter of the late Winnifred Pauline (Loppie) and George Edward Clayton Sr. and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Pauline loved her family, especially her eight beautiful children. Although she never had much, she kept us all safe and taught us the meaning of love. Pauline was a pilar in the community of Uniacke Square, known by all for welcoming and inviting you into her home and Polly’s Park. In her early years, she worked at the White Rose Dry Cleaners, MTT, and the Dinner Church. Her favorite pastime was going to B I N G O. Being introduced to Bingo at the age of eight, by her grandmother, she became an avid bingo player for over 70 years, winning at Shannon Bingo, Tommy's Bingo, and The Forum. If you were looking for Pauline, you could find her sitting in her chair, in front of the window, having a coffee or a sweet treat, while watching the Price is Right, Family Feud, and CSI. Pauline also loved to dance, especially jive, at the Tap, Misty Moon, and the Derby.
Pauline is survived by her children, Wayne (Susan), Alvin, John (Tina), Pauline Jr. (Anthony), Cory (Natashia), Cindy, Tracy, and Dekota (Colleen); 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; special daughter, Lateefa Colley (Toronto) and special son, Timothy Lynk (Halifax); sisters, Victoria, Pamala (Roy), Winnifred (Dartmouth), Angela (David); and brothers, Joseph (Irma), Martin (Terri-Lynn) (Halifax). She was predeceased by sisters, Patricia, Monica, and Shirley and brothers, George Jr., Eugene, and Michael.
