Obituary of George Wilson Noseworthy
NOSEWORTHY, George Wilson – age 91 of Halifax
George passed away peacefully with family at his side on June 24, 2025, after a brief illness.
He was born in Halifax and was the oldest son of Bertram and Oriel (Fraser) Noseworthy.
As a young man he met the love of his life Dorothy (Bonyman) on a blind date. They celebrated their 68th anniversary shortly before her passing in 2022.
Sharing a love of the outdoors they spent many summers camping with their two sons throughout Nova Scotia and PEI.
George was a welder by trade, working as a foreman for a local Halifax company for many years until he and a good friend/coworker started their own business.
As anyone who knew George will tell you, he was a handyman extraordinaire with a huge heart to match. It just seemed he could fix or build anything. When he wasn’t busy in his garage, he was out shoveling a neighbour’s driveway just because it needed done.
George was a longstanding member of the Royal Sussex #6 Masonic Lodge. Again, where was George at this years Annual New Years Breakfast? Washing the dishes of course.
George is survived by brother, Clyde (Sara) and family; Grandson, Jason; and daughter in law Dawn (Gary). He was predeceased by his loving wife, Dorothy, and his sons Gary and Blaine.
George’s family would like to say thank you to the staff on 4.1 and 8.4 at the QEII for their care.
