Obituary of Shirley Marie Poole

POOLE, Shirley Marie, age 75, of Halifax.

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Deacon Shirley Marie Poole (née Heisler) announces her unexpected passing on June 23, 2025. Born on June 12, 1950, in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Lillian Heisler.

Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a beloved member of the community of Spryfield and a devoted member of City Church Halifax where she served as a Deacon. She was a woman of faith who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ dearly and believed strongly in the power of prayer. Shirley will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humour and as someone who found joy in helping others. She will also be remembered for her amazing ribs and her cheesecake. Shirley will be greatly missed by all that loved and knew her. Many church members will deeply feel the absence of her welcoming smile and open arms each Sunday.

Shirley is survived by her son, Trevor Poole; granddaughter, Hailey Poole; and her brother, Franklin Heisler.

As per Shirley's wishes, cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, Halifax. A funeral service for Shirley will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 1:00 PM at City Church Halifax  276 Herring Cove Rd, Halifax, Nova Scotia. 

In lieu of flowers Shirley's family asks that donations in Shirley's memory be made to City Church Halifax.
