Obituary of Scott Jameson Hickey

HICKEY, Scott Jameson – age 62, of Halifax.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Scott Jameson Hickey. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend he will be deeply missed, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
 
Scott dedicated five years to the Halifax Regional Centre for Education and spent thirteen years working in numerous schools, most recently at Sackville Heights Elementary School. His passion for his work was evident to all, and he was known for being exceptionally helpful and dependable, leaving a lasting impact on students and colleagues alike.

Beyond his professional life, Scott was an avid hockey enthusiast, both as a player and a devoted fan. His exceptional skills on the ice were admired by many. He also had a long-standing love for wrestling.

Music was an integral part of Scott's life; it filled his days and brought him immense joy. He will be fondly remembered by his many friends. A special mention goes to Darren, Scott’s best friend.Thank you for visiting so frequently and for providing Scott with so many fun memories.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Sullivan; his daughter, Lorelei Sullivan-Hickey (Ryan Kelly); stepsons, Donnie Walker (Yasmin Nowe) and Damian Caldwell; grandchildren, Dylan, Aubrey, Bria, Rylan; stepmother, Barb MacDonald;  siblings, Paul (Rachael), Stephanie (Perry), George (Angela), Devlin (Gil), Donovan (Tanya), Raymond, Cory, Justin (Lori); sister in law, Paula; and many nieces and nephews. We cannot forget to mention Scott’s beloved fur baby Skye who will miss his dad very much.
 
Scott was predeceased by his father George Hickey; mother, Anne Hatter; and brother Clarence. He was also predeceased by his “Maw” Gladys Harish who helped raise him from when he was a baby. 

In keeping with his wishes, a celebration of life for Scott will be held at the Spryfield Legion 7 Sussex Street, Halifax, on July 19th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
