Obituary of Florence Genevieve Hinds

88, Halifax, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Florence Genevieve (Taylor) Hinds, surrounded by her loving family on July 22, 2025 at Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Building, Halifax, NS.   Born December 8, 1936, she was the only child of Ross and Mary (Letriard) Taylor.   Throughout her life, Florence was known for her love of her family.  She met the love of her life in Junior High School, Herb, whom she later married and they started and raised their family.  Not only was Florence a family woman, she was also a Certified Professional Secretary.  She worked within the Halifax School system, from where she retired following a lengthy and dedicated career.    Florence is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Herbert “Herb” Hinds, her cherished children, Greg (Joanna), Heather Miller (Ivan), both of Halifax, NS and Steven, of Fredericton, NB, her only granddaughter, Danielle Hinds (Patrick McCrossin), and a treasured great-grandson, Casey.  She was predeceased by her parents. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 2-4PM at the funeral home.  A celebration of Florence’s life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 11 AM at St. John's Cemetery, Bedford Higway.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Florence to a charity of your choice.
