Obituary of Morgan Margaret Burchill McMaster

MCMASTER, Morgan Margaret Burchill- Age 29 of Halifax, known to her friends as Freya, passed away peacefully at home on July 22, 2025. Morgan was a beautiful, wildly creative, and intelligent soul who made friends wherever she went. She was our quirky little shining star and the loveliest of people.

When Morgan loved, she loved with her whole self. Morgan had such a generous heart, was quick to forgive, and always ready with a kind word. She loved small things, such as her poetry, cross-stitching, friends and family, along every cat she ever met. She enjoyed baking and selling her cookies every Sunday at the market and the friendly people she met there. Sandy Cove was her favourite beach to walk, collect shells and sea glass. Morgan also enjoyed going for random day trips, and taking walks through the woods, interacting with nature—and occasionally nature interacting back.

Morgan had determination, a desire to succeed, was strong, and experienced all the world could give her. She contained multitudes. We love you to the moon and back.

Morgan is survived by her mother, Eileen; father, Christopher; brother, James (Jenny); Morgan’s partner, Chris; many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and everyone she loved and was loved by.

Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, Halifax.  In keeping with Morgan’s wishes, a celebration of life will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donates in Morgan’s memory can be made SPCA or Adsum House.
