Obituary of Jane Glasgow Trimble

TRIMBLE, Jane Glasgow, 84 died on July 31, 2025.

Born in Sydney, NS, raised in Moncton, NB, she was the only child of Harrison and Marion (Upham) Trimble. Jane was a graduate of Mount Allison University (BA) and the University of Toronto (BLS). Her surviving family members include former husband Stanley Rosenbaum; cousins, Michael Britton, Moncton, NB; Nancy Penney, Hubbards, NS; Joan Davis, Porter’s Lake, NS; and Jane Wiggins, Quispamsis, NB.

Jane began her career at the Dalhousie University Library in Halifax before moving to Ottawa in 1970 to work as Librarian with the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada. She moved back to Halifax in 1977, returning to the Dalhousie University Library and then to the University of King’s College. While at King’s, Jane worked with Dr. Wayne Hankey, helping to prepare the specifications and proposal for funding the new college library, which was completed in 1991. She then worked at the Nova Scotia Centre on Aging, Mount Saint Vincent University, until early retirement due to ill health in 1995.

Thank you to close friends and caregivers who she came to rely on and who helped Jane stay in her home. Jane’s family would also like to thank the staff at the Halifax Infirmary and at Drummond Hall - Parkland. A special thanks to Dr. Mandi Irwin who was not only a wonderful doctor but friend to Jane.

In keeping with Jane’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the care of J Albert Walker Funeral Home, Spryfield. There will be no visitation or funeral service.
