Funeral Service For Doreen Hudder
Obituary of Doreen Hazel Hudder
It is with profound love and sorrow that we share the passing of Doreen Hazel Hudder, who left this world on September 8th in the warm embrace of the family she cherished and nurtured.
Born to the late Catherine Mayo and Ralph Creelman, Doreen devoted her life to her family, finding joy in creating a warm and loving home. A devoted mother and homemaker, her greatest pride and happiness came from nurturing, guiding, and sharing her life with her children and grandchildren.
Doreen’s life was set to the soundtrack of country music. Her favorite song was “He Stopped Loving Her Today” by George Jones, and she loved nothing more than belting out Kitty Wells tunes — sounding so much like her that you might have thought Kitty was in the room. She even sang in a local community band, proving she didn’t just love music, she lived it. Whether she was singing, dancing, or just humming along in the kitchen, Doreen brought music, joy, and a lot of love everywhere she went.
Her deep Catholic faith was a guiding force in her life, and she found comfort and strength in her belief in God, which she shared with her family through her love, kindness, and unwavering devotion.
Doreen is lovingly remembered by her children, Joey Hudder; Rodney (Gail) Hudder; Mary (Mark) Albert; Douglas (Gina) Hudder; and Ross (Diana) Hudder, as well as her adored grandchildren, Brittany, Ricky, Doreen & Rodney Hudder; Joey, James, and Andrew Hudder; Mark Hopkins, Melissa & Markie Albert; Tad, Taryn & Shannon Hudder; and Jensen & Jared Hudder.
She was proud to be part of a large, loving family. Doreen is survived by her sisters Sandra, Nancy, Carol, Donna, and Janet, and by her brothers Gary, Terry, Larry, and Paul. She is now reunited with her sister, Pauline, and brother, Arthur, who predeceased her.
Doreen was also predeceased by her beloved partner and dear friend, Dennis Godbout, with whom she shared many cherished years, and we are comforted in knowing they are reunited once more.
She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Doreen’s presence will be deeply missed, but her love and grace will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held at Stella Maris Parish (formerly St. Michael’s), 14 St Michael's Ave. Halifax, Nova Scotia, on September 24th, 11am.
