Obituary of Fronie Hibbs-Gardiner
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Fronie Hibbs-Gardiner on December 12, 2025. Born to Eli & Mable in Botwood, NL, Fronie was the second of ten children. She moved to Nova Scotia in the early 1980s to pursue a career as a nurse's aid and start a family. During her career, she primarily worked at the Camp Hill Veterans Hospital, where she was committed to helping her patients and developed life-long friendships; she couldn’t go anywhere without running into someone she knew and always had time for a chat. When she wasn’t at the hospital, she spent much of her time chauffeuring her daughter to sports and being the supportive soccer mom. In 2018, she moved to the valley with her husband, where they enjoyed a slower pace of life and eventually their retirement. They always made time to come back to the city to spend time with family and friends. She was a fierce and committed wife, mother, friend, sister, and daughter. She is survived by her husband Harley; her daughter, Audriana (Liz); step-daughter, Kelly (Jordan); grandsons, Keagan and Cooper; siblings, Josephine (Michael), Pauline (John), Serena (Sid), Joanne (Jerry), Mike (Paula), Bud (Ellie-May), Derek (Monica) and Raymond (Ann). She is predeceased by her mother and father, and brother Rodney.
A celebration of life will be held in the new year. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Hospital at the QEII Foundation.
