It is with deep love and profound sadness that the family of Phyllis Delores Connors (Slaunwhite) announces her passing in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at the age of 83.

Born in Halifax and raised between Terrance Bay and the city, Phyllis built a life rooted in family, laughter, and simple joys. She worked at Dean’s Flowers and later at Physicians’ Services, retiring in 2011. Her warm spirit and easy smile made her a favourite among everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

A bright light with a playful and silly nature, Phyllis was always ready for a bit of fun. She adored old movies, rock and roll—especially Elvis Presley—and she loved to dance and play darts, often lighting up any room with her joyful energy. She had a remarkable ability to find the silver lining in any situation, offering positivity and comfort even in difficult moments. Above all, Phyllis treasured every moment spent with her family. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and a sense of home to all who knew her.

Phyllis is predeceased by her parents, Inglis and Leona (Publicover) Slaunwhite; her beloved husband Mickey; and her sisters, Marlene, Joyce, Joan, and Gloria.

She is survived by her sisters Carol (John Sullivan, predeceased) Sullivan, Sandra (Robert) Murphy, Glenda (Laurie Laviolette, predeceased) Laviolette, and Wanda (James) Powers; her daughter, Lynn; her grandchildren, Krista (Daniel) Hartling, Michael (Shauna Bottomley) Mabe, and Joseph Mabe; her six great-grandchildren; and her loving partner Kenneth Smith, all of whom brought her immense pride, joy, and
companionship.
