Obituary of Bettye Grace Hutt
In Loving Memory of Bettye Hutt (née Boutilier) March 24, 1934 – December 24, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a beautiful long life, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Bettye Hutt, who passed away on December 24, 2025, at the age of 91.
Born in Seabright, Nova Scotia, to Hazlitt and Edith Boutilier. She later made her home in Tantallon, where she became the heart of her family and a steady presence in her community. She was truly the matriarch of our family. She was warm, compassionate, and always giving.
Bettye was predeceased by her beloved husband, Norman Hutt; her sisters, Doris Johnson, June Covey and Ruth Smith and her brothers, Donald, Barry and Laurie. She is remembered and appreciated by her brother, Neal Boutilier; her daughters, Susan Law(David), Kim Pulsifer(Tim), and Beth Grady(Craig); and her sons, Jeffrey Hutt and Glenn Hutt(Carmen).
She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Josh, Maggie, Keri, Kale, Alexandra, Samantha, Victoria, Luke, Emma, Owen, Jeff, Olive, Hamish, and Ferguson.
She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Shay, Jaxson, Ruby, Iris, Axel, Maeve, Willow, Nora, Lucas, Chelsea, and Katie, each of whom brought her immense joy.
A service celebrating Bettye’s life will be held at St. Luke’s United Church on January 6 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude for a life so richly lived.
She will be forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.
