Grace Rose Dempsey

May 28th, 1955 – January 22nd, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Grace Rose Dempsey, who passed away in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 2026, at the age of 70. Grace was born in Halifax and spent her life rooted in the place she called home.

Grace was predeceased by her beloved parents, Mary and Wallace Rose; her brothers, Walter and Mike Rose; and her husband, Ralph Dempsey, whom she loved dearly.

Grace is survived by her son, Brian Miller (Paige), and her cherished grandchildren, Dylan and Paige Miller; her sisters, Cora (Bucky), Marie (Philip), Maryann, and Darlene (Kevin); and her brothers, Cyril (Shiela), Jimmy (Geraldine), David, and Perry, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Grace found comfort and happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune and enjoyed settling in with her favorite true crime documentaries. She valued time spent with her longtime friends and especially treasured her close bond with her niece Kimberly, with whom she loved playing board games and sharing laughter. The beach was Grace’s sanctuary. She loved the feel of the salt air and the sound of the tide—it was the one place where time seemed to slow down. Whether she was walking along the shoreline or just soaking in the view, the ocean was where she felt most like herself.

Grace will be remembered for her quiet strength, her familiar routines, and the love she had for her family. She leaves behind a space that cannot be filled and memories that will be held close forever.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home. In keeping with Grace's wishes, no funeral service or visitation will be held.
