Obituary of Donald Walter Hall

March 23, 1942  -  January 23, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Donald Walter Hall announce his peaceful passing on January 23, 2026 at the QEII Hospital in Halifax at the age of 83. 

Born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia on March 23, 1942, Donald was a loving husband, father, proud grandfather, and friend to everyone he met. Donald was a man known for his strong work ethic and ability to fix anything. Donald was a true jack of all trades, working many different careers in his life. Donald was happiest in his shed working on projects, taking things apart, and keeping his hands busy. He had a natural curiosity and a gift to figure things out. 

Donald found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved sitting on his patio with a hot coffee enjoying the views. He loved sharing laughs with the people he loved. He especially cherished time spent joking around with his grandchildren, who will forever remember his humour, warmth, and playful spirit. 

Donald was predeceased by his beloved wife, Delores. The family takes comfort in knowing she will be waiting for him. 

He will be deeply missed by his sister, Mary, and his children; Leola, Cathy (John) Meagher, Donna, Donald (Teena), Andrew and Tracy (Larry).  He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, his great-great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom were a great source of pride and happiness in his life. 

Donald will be remembered for his love for his family, his hard working nature, his sense of humour, and the many things he built, fixed and shared with those around him. His memory will live on in the stories told, the lessons passed down, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. 

Visitation will take place at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home in Spryfield on Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.  A burial service will be held at a later date.
