Ivy Edna (Kirk) Hann

Sadly, the family announces the passing of Ivy on February 12th after 3 years in Melville Lodge due to Alzheimer’s. Ivy was born on September 22, 1940, in Sambro, where she lived and loved her entire life. She loved gardening, walking, playing cards and spending time with family, especially her sisters, Theresa and Aronda. She was the daughter of the late George & Leta (Gilkie) Kirk.

Ivy was predeceased by her husband, James Hann; her infant son, Norman; her brother, Edwin Kirk; her son-in-law, Lou Shaw; her sister-in-law,  Lyn Kirk; and her brother-in-law, Len Cavan.

Ivy is survived by her three children, Mitzi Shaw, Marty (Sue) Hann, Michelle (Howie) Smith; grandchildren who she so dearly loved, Brad, Jennifer, Sara, Jill, Trevor, Travis; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ivy’s surviving siblings are Theresa (Clyde) Gray, Barry (Francis) Kirk, Aronda (Darrell) Garrison and surviving sisters-in-law, Shirley Cavan and Suzie Kirk.

Cremation has taken place, and a private family burial will take place in the Spring when the remains of Ivy and Jimmy will be buried together (as they requested) at St. James United Church Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to St. James United Church, Sambro.
