Obituary of June Bernadette Morris
Our loving mother, June Morris, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 16, 2026, at the age of 91, at Melville Lodge Nursing Home.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on June 8, 1934, June was the beloved daughter of Seretha and Joseph Keating. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. June dedicated her life to those she loved, always offering a listening ear, a comforting embrace, and kindness through her actions. Her positive spirit and caring nature touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
June found great joy in dancing, bowling, and making crafts, passions that brought her happiness and allowed her to express herself. She cherished camping trips with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, storytelling, and love. These moments were among her most treasured.
June was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was predeceased by both her parents; by her brothers, Collins, Albert, Harry, and Joey; and her sisters, Blanche, Edith, Marie, and Dorothy. She is lovingly survived by her seven children: Bev (Barry), Leonard, Freda (Alan), Fred (Cathy), Blair (Anne), Wanda (Roger), and Heather, as well as her many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Buddy and her sister, Shirley.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Melville Lodge Nursing Home for their kindness, care, and support shown to June and her family.
Visitation will be held at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society in June’s memory.
June’s love, guidance, and gentle presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
