Obituary of Shawna Lynn Dwyer
DWYER, Shawna Lynn- Age 41of Halifax, passed away knowing she was loved by many on March 9th, 2026. Born in Halifax, Shawna was the daughter of Catherine “Cathy” (Dwyer) and Step father,Greg Hill.
Shawna was a radiant soul, cherished for her inner and outer beauty. Her presence brought warmth and joy to everyone she met. She had an infectious laugh and gave hugs that made anyone feel at home. Shawna’s kindness was evident in how she always checked in on others, ensuring they felt loved and valued. If you were having a tough day, she would do everything she could to lift your spirits—often insisting, “You want a hug?” and never taking no for an answer.
Shawna had a passion for makeup and fashion, never leaving home without her look perfectly polished. She was known for matching her outfit and jewellery with care, always expressing her vibrant personality through her style. Shawna embraced life fully—she enjoyed singing, dancing, trying new foods, and travelling, whether on adventures to Montreal or bus rides across Halifax and Dartmouth. One memorable afternoon, Shawna surprised her friends by turning the living room into a spontaneous dance party, inviting everyone to join in and laugh together. Moments like these captured her joyful spirit and love for bringing people together.
Shawna shared a remarkable bond with Clint, her soulmate. Their love was deep and genuine, strengthened over more than eighteen years. Clint showed his devotion by giving Shawna a promise ring, a symbol of his unwavering love. Together, they created countless memories—from watching movies and wearing matching clothes to sharing inside jokes, like Shawna affectionately saying, “Haha oh Clinty.” They were truly two peas in a pod, and their connection remains unbreakable.
Shawna is survived by a loving family and many friends. She will be deeply missed by her soulmate Clint Sock; brothers, Matthew (Chantal), Shane, Justin (Tara), Brandon, Scott, and Jaden; sisters, Brandy, Tiffany, and Brittney (Travis); grandparents, Margaret Dwyer and Robert Hill; and her many nieces and nephews, especially Cataleya and JR. Her friends Leigh, Cara, Jenny, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and beloved pets, will forever remember Shawna’s warmth and spirit Shawna was predeceased by Kevin Dwyer, Irene Drummond, Harry Pelley & Thelma Hill.
Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, Halifax. Service arrangements will be updated later. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made out in Shawna’s honour to the Boys and Girls Club.
