Obituary of Russell James Henneberry
HENNEBERRY, Russell James – Age 83 of Portugese Cove. It is with extreme sadness that we announce his passing on April 3, 2026, at the QEII Victoria General Site, Halifax after a hard fought battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Norman and Eunice (Gilkie) Henneberry.
Russell enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter. He worked at Maritime Steel in Dartmouth for many years and, following his retirement, could often be found in his garage tinkering with cars.
Russell is survived by his wife of 55 years, Glenda (Purcell) Henneberry; daughter, Holly (Jason) Lake; son, Chad (Ashley Bagatin); and grandchildren, Emersyn, Brody, and Gavin. He is also survived by his sisters, Norma Lacoursiere, Betty Henneberry, and Barb Poole; brother, Ron (Jean) Henneberry. Russell was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Roger Lacoursiere and Donnie Poole.
In keeping with Russell’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date
