Obituary of Theresa Mary Wournell

With heavy hearts, we announce that Theresa Mary Wournell, 50, born February 21, 1976, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, passed away on April 9, 2026, with her family and friends by her side.

Theresa was strong and fearless, yet deeply caring and kind. She was fiercely loyal and always stood by her friends and family.

She will be remembered for her strength, her spirit, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Theresa was predeceased by her father, Paul Wournell; her mother, Patricia O’Gara; and her brother, Pauly. She is survived by her aunts, Brenda Wournell (Arthur) and Susie White, and her uncle, David Wournell, as well as many cousins. She is also survived by dear friends, including Julie Horne, Nadine Marriott, Kelly Casey, and Craig Baillie, with special friends Helena Brenna and her dearest friend, whom she lovingly called “my Heather Dodge,” and her partner, Glen.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the QE2 ICU team, with special mention to Nurse Fletcher, whose genuine care, compassion, and support brought comfort during this difficult time, as well as Halifax Fire, Police, and Paramedic services for their care and support.

A burial will be held at a later date.
