Scott McDonald Joyce Stacey

June 28, 1973 – April 13, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Scott McDonald Joyce Stacey on April 13, 2026, at the age of 51, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Scott was the beloved son of Shirley Christine MacDonald and Gabriel Stacey, and will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Sarah, siblings: Anne, Shelley (Donnie), and nephews Luke (Danielle)and Robert (Vanessa). 

A dedicated construction worker, Scott was known for his strong work ethic, athletic lifestyle, and kind heart. As a young man, he was a talented baseball pitcher and was scouted for the Canada Games. He also had a deep interest in history and enjoyed sharing what he learned. Scott will be remembered for his warmth, sense of humor, and the way his eyes lit up when he smiled.

He cherished time spent with his father, especially sharing a cold beer and listening to stories of Newfoundland, and showed great devotion in caring for his mother at home until her passing.

Scott loved his dog Sammy, his constant and loyal companion, who remained faithfully by his side until the very end.

The family extends sincere thanks to the staff at Connections Halifax on Spring Garden Road, especially Mary Lord and the Jazz Program, a recovery-focused program supporting adults living with mental illness, for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Connections Halifax in Scott’s memory.

Scott will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. One of his greatest dreams was to travel. In his memory, his family invites you to raise a beer in his honour whenever you find yourself somewhere new.
