With heavy hearts, surrounded by family and love, we announce the passing and honour the life of
MICHAEL KENNETH AUCOIN (MOOSE)
Born - 30 December 1969 Passed away - 6 May 2026
Don’t remember me with sadness, Don’t remember me with tears,
Remember all the laughter, We’ve shared throughout the years.
Now I am contented, That my life it was worthwhile,
Knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
Michael was born in Toronto to James Aucoin and Janet Sampson but grew up in Sydney, Cape Breton. He loved to play hockey and baseball in his youth. He attended and completed high school at Sydney Academy. Upon completion, he served his country honourably for 10 years in the Canadian Armed Forces as a proud member of the Lord Strathcona's Horse Armoured Regiment. A proud Veteran, he distinguished himself during his service. He had a great interest in Fast cars, Boxing, Wrestling, Fishing, Hunting, Fitness, and Video games. A hardcore Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan, he always had something to say about them. His old school sense of humour and personality always brought joy to social gatherings. He competed and was successful in multiple body building competitions in pairs and single events. After the military, Michael gained a keen interest in building, programming and training with computers and software. He was so good at it that it became a career for him, and he was very successful at it for many years, working for some prestigious companies and institutions. His greatest joy was his children, and he never missed a chance to speak fondly as a proud Dad about them. From Comicon to Timmies runs to watching movies together, he treasured and valued his time with them. Despite many health challenges, Michael remained resilient, independent, and grateful. Living in Whites Lake, Nova Scotia, with his favourite dog, Max, by his side, and planning life together with his loving Life Partner, Tanya Lynn Dunn, who beautifully cared for him at home until his last breath.
Michael was preceded in Death by Father James Anthony Aucoin.
