Obituary of Robert Eldon White

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Robert Eldon White on June 22, 2026, at Melville Gardens in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at the age of 82.

Robert will be remembered for his strength, independence, and the unique path he travelled throughout his life.

He was an avid fisherman throughout most of his life, and he shared many adventurous camping trips with family and friends, often with the dads and kids. Later in life, he took up curling. He also enjoyed camping, hunting, and travelling the open road. He worked hard throughout his life, had a sense of humour, and enjoyed a good practical joke. He faced the challenges of his later years with determination, and the hope of one day leaving hospice care.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Angela E. White, and his son, Robert S. White, as well as his sisters, brothers, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. 

The immediate family extends its sincere appreciation and special thanks to Colleen McMullin (niece) and Wayne (best friend) for their loving care, kindness, friendship, and support they provided while Robert resided on her property and during his time in hospice. Appreciation and special thanks are also extended to Greg (Gig) McMullin, Peter McDunnough, Claire, Helena, Craig, Brian, Debbie, and Karen for their visits and loving support in the last few years, providing comfort, companionship, and kindness.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home.

Robert's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be remembered with love, respect, and gratitude for the many times shared with him.
