Obituary of Keith Carl Ayres

age 59, Lakeside, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday September 2, 2013 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born on June 20,1954 in Grand Bank NL., he was a son of Mildred (Smith), Halifax and the late Harold Ayres. Keith spent many years in construction and also worked as an oil burner technician. He was an avid gardener, loved listening to classical music, playing drums and keyboard, reading, all sports, especially the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was a fan of healthy cooking and cherished all the laughs that were had at family gatherings. He grew up overlooking Ferguson’s Cove and loved the ocean. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten and always loved and always be remembered for his favourite saying "Wazz Up!". He is survived by loving wife, Shenna Thompson; daughter, Brandy Woods, Alta.; brothers, Lloyd (Kim); Dewey (Darlene); Jim (Allison), all of Halifax; sisters Judy (Gary), Saint John, NB; Sarah Frost (Travis), Digby; Nancy, Halifax; grandchildren Chase and Cameron; and very special aunt Blanche, that loved him very much. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd., where a Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, September 6 at 2p.m., Rev. Jeannie Manning-Stright officiating. Reception to follow. Interment to take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
