Obituary of Muriel Loxdale

LOXDALE, Muriel Hazel May:  88, Halifax, NS, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2013 at Melville Heights.  Born in Justice, Manitoba, she was a daughter of the late Reginald and Rabenna (Johnston) Keddy.  In 1953, Muriel married the love of her life, Harold, the man she fell in love with at first sight.  She was a proud lady who was very dedicated to Emmanuel Anglican Church, where she served for many years on the choir.  She loved dancing, singing, reading, listening to music, doing her aerobics, painting and acting, and in her youth, modeling.  She was a person who loved to help others and was a friend to many.  She is survived by her only daughter, Jean Holland (Andrew), Edmonton, AB, two grandchildren, Zachary and Jillian (Tyler), brothers, James Keddy (Elizabeth), Cambridge, NS, and Hugh Keddy (Gwendolyn), Riverview, NB, a sister, Eva Olgivie, Albert County, NB, as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her loving husband, Harold in 1991, a brother, Oliver, and a brother-in-law, Gerald Olgivie.             Arrangements are under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (477.5601).  A memorial service in memory of Muriel will be celebrated on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 2PM from Emmanuel Anglican Church, Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS, followed by a reception in the church hall.  Interment will take place in Emmanuel Anglican Church Cemetery, where Muriel will be united once again with Harold.  Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.  Words of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting www.walkerfh.com
