Obituary of Mildred Irene Manuel

MANUEL, Mildred Irene "Millie"- Age 58, born January 30, 1956 she was the daughter the of the late Roy Frederick Manuel and Buelah Irene Manuel (Marriott). Millie Graduated from Dalhousie university with a fine arts Bachelors Degree, and went on to get a degree in dance and choreography at Concordia University in Montreal. She also loved figure skating becoming a coach teaching figure skating in Quebec and Halifax. In the summertime she was always in the garden tending to rhubarb and other blooming flowers as well as composting. Millie volunteered at the QEII in the Clothes City department giving out clothes to patients that had none. She also loved going to the movie day with her Building Bridges group as well as the Sharing and caring club. Millie will be lovingly missed by her Fiancé James King, Halifax as well as by her sister Etta May Lennox (Kevin),; nephews Aaron and Max, Upper Tantallon; brother Tom Manuel (Donna) Halifax. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd.  149 Herring Cove Rd. Halifax (477-5601) where visitation will be held Tuesday April 1, 7-9pm. A Celebration of Life for Millie will take place on Wednesday April 2, 11am at Bayers Road Baptist Church with Dr. Reverend Leslie McCurdy officiating. Reception at the church to follow.  Internment will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Donations in Millie's name may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association Nova Scotia Division or to a charity of ones choice. Word of comfort can be left at www.walkerfh.com
