Obituary of Gladys Evangeline Redmond (Bonnevie)

Age 95, Spryfield, died Tuesday April 1. Born October 15, 1918 in West Chezzetcook, she was the daughter of the late Frederic and Agnes (Romo) Bonneue. Gladys started her teaching career in Pubnico, Yarmouth Co., then to Waverly and later to Old Cunard School in Jollimore, John W. MacLeod, Spryfield North, Central Spryfield, back to John W. MacLeod and then finally retiring as principal from Flemming Tower School Armdale. She was a gentle and caring person, a faithful parishioner of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church and an avid traveller. She enjoyed her home on St. Michaels’ Ave. and visitors were always welcomed with a smile and a cup of tea. Gladys is survived by sister-in-law, Pauline Henderson, Halifax; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Russell Joseph Redmond; sister Mary Rose Manette; brothers, Frederick Oliver and Donald Albert in infancy. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation will be held Friday April 4 from 6-8 p.m.. Funeral service Saturday April 5 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel. Interment to take place at a later date in St. Anslem’s Cemetery West Chezzetcook. We would like to thank the staff of Melville Lodge for the wonderful care Gladys received while she was living with them.
