Obituary of Lorraine June Peters

81, Halifax, died unexpectedly, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 7, 2014 in the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Bertha (Deveau) Henneberry. Lorraine was a person who loved life and lived it to the fullest!  Lorraine drew her circle wide filling it with all she loved:  family, BFF Joyce & Albert and her many friends. She loved to dance and was a member of the Young at Heart Club.  She bowled, played darts/cards/bingo and dancercised! In her spare time she was found to be working on a fundraiser for her community! She will lovingly be remembered by her son, Darren (Marilyn), Spryfield; daughter, Denise (Robert) Wilson, Beaverbank; grandchildren, Randy, Christopher (Lorrie), Vincent (Tiana), Marcia and Brittany; great grandchildren, Tyler and Kiera; siblings, Madeline, Rosemarie, Nancy, Richard and Linda; many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alphonso; siblings, Gloria, Jean, Bernice, James, Theresa, Howard "Jr." and Karl.  Special thanks to the QEII Emergency staff as well as staff of 4.1, for their compassionate care and support. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home. No visitation by request. A Memorial Mass and celebration of Lorraine’s life will take place on Friday, September 12 at 10 AM at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Interment will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lr. Sackville. Family flowers only. Donations in Lorraine’s memory may be made to MADD Canada, St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church or the Canadian Cancer Society.
