Erin D. Jennings
Owner & Managing Director
Erin began her career in Funeral Services in 1993. In 1995, she attended Funeral Services Education, Kingstec Community College, Kentville, NS and successfully graduated in June 1996. Upon completion of college, she began working at Brenan’s Funeral Home in Saint John, NB, her native city, where she obtained her New Brunswick Funeral Director and Embalming licenses. For about a decade she proudly served families for Brenan’s in Saint John. In 2003, Erin moved to Halifax, NS, obtained her Nova Scotia licenses, and briefly worked for a local funeral home. In 2004, she took a position with Dalhousie Medical Science, where she worked as the resident cadaver embalmer. In March of 2005, she partnered with her former Brenan’s employers, Bill and Stephen MacMackin of Select Community Funeral Homes, and together they purchased J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. For the past 16 years, Erin has owned and operated J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd in the community of Spryfield, a suburb of Halifax, NS. Over the 14 years, Erin has worked with The Funeral Service Association of Nova Scotia, serving as President. She was also the government appointee to the Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers of Nova Scotia, where she served a term. She is a member of Funeral Services Association of Nova Scotia, Funeral Services Association of Canada, The National Funeral Directors Association, along with the Spryfield Business Commission, where she also is a past director. Erin’s passion is to serve her community and families with dignity and respect, offering diversity and choices for all. For 25 years, she has served each family as if they are her own.
Jada L. Reid
Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer
Jada was born in Halifax and raised in the Timberlea/Tantallon area. Ever since she was young she knew that she wanted to be involved in funeral services. After graduating high school in 2015, she enrolled at NSCC Kingstec in the Funeral & Allied Health Services program. While in studies, Jada secured an apprenticeship through J. Albert Walker Funeral Home and where she became dual licensed. In 2020, Jada took a break to expand her knowledge base and further pursue other funeral service opportunities. In April 2022, Jada returned to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home full-time.
