I am deeply sorry for your loss, I know the heartache of losing a loved one. Soon the God of Comfort will bring an end to death and wipe away the tears from all faces, for this has been promised at Isaiah 25:8. We can also look forward to the marvelous hope brought out at Acts 24:15 There we see that those we lost in death will be brought back to life here on earth. I do hope you find comfort in this as I have. Mythoughts are with you
Sincerely, Janet

A big "Hello" to the family. None of you will have ever heard of me, however, Bas & I go all the way back to the mid 50s when he was with Farmer's Dairy. At the time he was our delivery person on Victoria Rd. in Dartmouth. I began helping him out on Saturday's before I went to school & on holidays. This progressed to me meeting him just as he crossed the bridge up in the north end of town. I would help him all the way down to my school which was at the corner of Victoria Rd. & Thistle St. where I would get off & carry on to school. This went on until I was in high school & I can assure you that we had "some pile" of fun. After school & Dal I ended up working in N.Y. city, Montreal etc & was rarely home. When I retired & moved back here I had no idea of where Bas was. When I got back from Quebec a few days ago I scanned some back issues & was surprised to see his obit. I simply could not believe he was still alive for many reasons not the least of which was the non stop smoking. However, I have to tell you that the thing that surprised me most was the "cocktails" we would drink every day!. They consisted of Bas taking a quart of chocolate milk & drinking a few mouthfuls then taking a gil of whipping cream & poring into the chocolate milk & mixing it really well. When I think back wondering how long after I left here this deadly combination might have been consumed it is little wonder that I was surprised yet really happy to see the great long & successful career he had. Oh that I would have had a chance to see him & go over the times & fun we had. As you can imagine the Christmas delivery's were legendary to say the least. It would seem to me that drinking that mixture....deadly as it was,, may have played a significant roll in his great life. Obviously it didn't do him too much harm!! You folks were surely blessed to have have had this guy around for so long!!...wonder if they mix chocolate milk & whipping cream up there??
May he rest in peace...my sincere condolances.

Condolences to Bas' family and friends. Lived around the corner from his Irving station and the family always took their cars to him. He was always so fair and personable and the consummate Gentleman. His generosity was abundant but subtle. Keep the great memories close.

Dear Rosemary and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Baz's passing. I know he will be missed and was loved by every one. He was the best and most honest man you could ever meet. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel and earth has lost a great man.
