Obituary of Joy Marie "Edna" Hill

Hill, Joy Marie (Edna): 90, Halifax, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Northwood Manor, Halifax, NS. Born in Martin’s Point, Lunenburg County, NS, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Mae (Eisnor) Hiltz. Years ago, Edna had been employed as a waitress at the Nova Scotia Hotel. She had formerly been an active bowler and a member of Bethany United Church. She is survived by a son-in-law, Anthony “Tony” Purcell (Anne), Herring Cove, a sister, Doris MacKay, Port Colburn, ON, and a brother, Aubrey Hiltz, Martin’s Point, sister-in-law, Jean Hiltz, as well as a granddaughter, Christina Mae Purcell, nieces, Janice and Sandra and nephews, Michael, Donnie and Derek. She was predeceased by her husband, Cyril W. Hill, daughter, Joy Debra Purcell, a sister, Marguerite, and a brother, Albert. By request, cremation has taken place under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (477.5601). A graveside committal service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 10 AM at Western Shore Cemetery, Western Shore, NS, with Rev. Bonnie Baird as clergy.
