Obituary of Caroline Chisholm

Chisholm, Caroline Elizabeth (Betty): Halifax, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Caroline (Bennett) Hunt. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Chisholm and Carrie Chisholm (Wayne Parker) Halifax; grandchildren, Michael Simon, Brandi, Staci, and Jessica Losier and Tori Parker, one great-grandson, Matthew Eisan, brothers, Frederick (Betty), Halifax; Bernard (Lillian),West St Andrews, Walter, Halifax, Peter (Nancy), Lantz, sisters, Edith (Harold Flynn), Truro, Katherine, Halifax, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael B. Chisholm in 1990, brothers, James, David, and Kenneth. Caroline was a loving mother, nanny and sister, and a strong, kind and generous woman who was always there for us and would do everything in her power to help others. She especially enjoyed her family all together for the holidays. We will cherish the memories of times spent together; the memories too beautiful to forget. She will be sadly missed by her daughters and grandchildren who loved her deeply. Cremation has taken place under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS. No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 2 pm from the funeral home chapel. Interment will take place at a later date. Family flowers only, donations in memory of Caroline can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Special thanks are extended to niece, Carol Hubley for her love and support as well as the staff at 8.2, and Palliative nurses, Cindy and Joe.
