Obituary of Shirley Bell Lawrence

81, Halifax, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 9, 2010 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax she was a daughter of the late John and Christie (Hubley) Wilson. She is survived by sons; Donald (Pamela), Lake Echo, Reginald (Christena), Stillwater Lake; daughters; Sandra Mackey (Rod), Westville, Christine Rogers, Canning; son-in-law Jagdev Singh, Bedford; sisters Minni Kennedy, Sackville, Helen Gates, Dartmouth, Mary Kelly, Calgary AB., Ruth Rhyno, Halifax; grandchildren Wesley, Gavin, Adrienne, Robyn, Amissa, Jeevan, Meara, Caedan, Hannah, Braden; great grandson Dennis. Shirley was predeceased by husband Cyril, daughter Wendy Singh, sister Edith Gilbert, brothers John, James, William, Frank. Cremation has taken place under the care of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Rd. (477-5601), where visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Friday November 12. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday November 13 in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Russell Saulnier officiating. Interment to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Mumford Rd. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. She will be missed by all those who loved her. A heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of 8.4 Halifax Infirmary for the excellent care and compassion given to Mom during her stay.
