Obituary of Edward V. Barron
BARRON, Edward Victor - 66, Maitland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at home with his loving family by his side. He was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Smith) Barron.
Ed was an avid fisherman and loved watching hockey and baseball. He enjoyed a good game of crib, as well as a cold Molson Canadian. He worked many years as a supervisor in the auto industry in Windsor, Ontario where he made many wonderful friendships. Ed returned to Nova Scotia after his retirement in 2000 to enjoy life on the lake.
He will lovingly be remembered and never forgotten by his wife, Jackie (Boyer), his daughters, Kim Howard (Howie), Nicole Nauffts (Jody), step-children, Carole Boyer (Anthony), Leo Labelle, Larry Labelle (Denise), Allison Labelle; siblings, Lorraine Richard (Reginald), Douglas Barron (Debbie), Ellen Welch (Edward), Arthur Barron (Marie); grandchildren, Lacey Lynn, Alysha, Andrew, Jazmine, Liam, Jacob, Destiny, Joel, Emily, Dylan and Evan. He was predeceased by his brothers, John Barron and Patrick Richard.
The family extends special thanks to the Bridgewater Chemo Unit, Dr. Abriel, Dr. Robertson, Dr. Ferguson and his staff, Dr. Atkinson, special palliative nurse Louise, VON nurse Andrea and extra special thanks to Peggy, for all of their compassionate care and support given to Ed and the family.
Cremation has taken place under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Friday, November 19 from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 20 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
