Obituary of Paula J. Colford

COLFORD, (Eggenhuizen) Paula Josefina – 90, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 6, 2010 in the Abbie J. Lane Building, QEII. Born in Holland, she was a daughter of the late Cornelius and Alosalia (Wamerlink) Jacobs. Paula enjoyed crafts of all kinds, especially knitting, crocheting and plastic canvas. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her smile and blue glasses. She was the bond that kept the family together. She will be missed dearly by her sons, Marty (Catherine) Eggenhuizen, Nine Mile River; Peter (Janet) Eggenhuizen, Halifax; daughters, Bianca (John) Inkpen, South Brookfield; Jolanda (Darrell) Myers, Ship Harbour; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husbands, John Eggenhuizen and Peter Colford; 4 brothers and 1 sister, all in the Netherlands. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Drs. Clarke and Lakas, as well as to the staff of 9 Lane of the Abbie J. Lane Building, QEII, for their compassionate care and support. Arrangements are under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 8 from 4-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 9 at 10:30 a.m. from Saint Benedict Roman Catholic Church, Fr. Thomas Mabey officiating, with a reception to follow in the church hall; interment to be held in Fairview Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paula’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
