Obituary of Rose Winnifred Neil

68, Halifax, passed away January 10, 2011 in the QEII V.G. Site. Born in Chester, she was the daughter of the late Jerry and Corrine Walker. Rose was a survivor of the “Butterbox Babies”. She was a great humanitarian, she volunteered with Parent Find, QEII V.G. Site and at the I.W.K. She also loved her computer. Rose was a great wife, Mom, grandmother, friend and cook. Rose will be sadly missed by her loving husband Robert “Bob”; son, Andrew Mills (Lisa Marie), Oshawa, ON.; daughter, Charlene Neil (Dean Kettle), Halifax; brother, William Sullivan, Sackville; step sons, Stephen Neil (Dawn), Pickering, ON., Michael Neil (Lori), Bowmanville, ON.; grandchildren, Chris, Natalie Anne, Cody, Dylan, Ryan; neice, Margaret Slate (Kevin); and her cats Herman, CC, Serena, Sammy. Cremation has taken place under the care of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation will be held today, January 12 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Thursday January 13 at 9:45 a.m., Father Frank Pellerin as celebrant, reception to follow. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses, doctors and attendants on 8A and I.C.U. of the V.G. Site.
