Obituary of Carolyn J. Thomson

THOMSON, Carolyn J. - 71. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Carolyn Thomson of Halifax. Raised in Armdale, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Josephine Westhaver. Carolyn lived her life giving to and doing for the people she loved. A precious heart stopped beating. She worked at Sears for 26 years and Dalhousie, Tupper Building. The happy faces of her four grandchildren were her joy. They are Emily, Leslie, Victoria and Ricky. A devoted mom, Carolyn will be remembered with love by her children, Cindy (Joe) MacLean, Amherst; Scott (Charlene) Bouchard, Halifax. She will be missed by her twin brother, Rolley (Shirley) Westhaver; brothers, Vernon Westhaver, Ricky (Nancy) Westhaver, all of Halifax, and Gary (Suzanne) Westhaver, Manitoba; sister, Janet Labine, Ontario. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Ian Thomson; brothers, Don and Raymond; infant brothers, Parker and Bernard; sisters, Joyce, Marge, Ruth, Bernice and Shirley. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477-5601). In keeping with Carolyn’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 21 at 2PM in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Dianna Brett-Frye officiating. A reception will follow the service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Fairview Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carolyn’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
