Obituary of John Tsagaris

TSAGARIS, John – Halifax passed away peacefully on Friday, February 18, 2011 in the arms of his daughter Sasa. Born in Mesologi, Greece, he was the son of the late Stamatis and Christina (Menjorou) Tsagaris. He will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 41 years, Linda (Saunders), Weston; his children, Christina (Troy), Stamatis (Dora), Maria (Donnie), Anastasia (Adam), Kim (Connie); his grandchildren, who gave him great joy, twins, Anna and Alexander, Emily, Loukas, Mirrissa, Stavros and Olesia, Athena and John, his namesake; sister, Karti, Mesologi; Maria, Halifax; nephews in Greece, Dartmouth and Halifax; niece in Greece. He was predeceased by sister, Anastasia; twin brothers in infancy; niece, Martha. Arrangements are under the direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 22 from 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 23 at 1:30 PM in St. Georges Greek Orthodox Church, with Fr. Panagiotis (Peter) Maropoulos officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment will be held in Fairview Lawn Cemetery. Donations in John’s memory may be made to the Diabetes Association or to Heart Function Clinic at the Halifax Infirmary.
