Obituary of Richard "Dick" Morrison

Morrison, Richard Francis “Dick”: 80, Halifax, NS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Montreal, Quebec, he was the only son of the late Richard and Florence (Squires) Morrison. For ten years, “Moe” had served in the Canadian navy. He then went on to work in sales with various companies, from where he retired. In his retirement, he was a commissionaire and a porter at the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. He loved his Sunday drives with his family, and the trips always ended with an ice-cream. Dick is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie “Marge” (Scott), his daughters, Teresa “Terry” Morrison, Halifax, Karen Morrison (Ana), Toronto, and Lori Morrison (Breena), Halifax, and a son-in-law, Barry Wilson. Grampy will be sadly missed by his treasured grandchildren, Angela, Nathan (Breanne), Taylor, Solomon, Craig (Amy), Kerry (Jamie), Ryan (Emily), and Justin (Morgan), as well as his great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Kendall, Ronin, Nola, Silas, and Brody. He was predeceased by a sister, Mabel Norris, and a daughter, Lynn Wilson. Cremation has taken place under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (477.5601), where visitation will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011 from 6-8 PM. An interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society.
