Obituary of Raymond Keith Hutchinson

Halifax, NS. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Raymond Hutchinson on March 17, 2011 at age 42. He was a son of Douglas and the late Shirley Hutchinson. Ray is survived by sister, Cheryl, brothers, Harley, Scott (Paula) and niece Jacqueline, and nephews Mitchell and Douglas. Ray graduated from J.L. Ilsley high school and Compu College and served in the Canadian Armed Forces – Artillery Division. Active in sports, he was a long time player and coach of Chebucto Minor Hockey. Ray was a volunteer at the IWK Health Centre and an active member of West End Baptist Church. His generous and gracious spirit touched many lives. Ray had many good friends and a kind word for everyone. His smile will be with us forever. Visitation will take place at JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (902.477.5601) on Friday, March 25 from 6-8 PM. The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 2 PM in the West End Baptist Church, 1986 Preston St. (at the corner of Quinpool Rd.), Halifax, NS, with Rev. Nolan Lee officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
